Ríos de oro – Alejandro Bernal

Ríos de oro is the second solo work of the sound explorer from Medellín, Alejandro Bernal.

The name, Ríos de oro, comes from the piece EBG – EOH that recreates the trip Alejandro made to a gold mine on the edge of the Nechí River, in El Bagre (Colombia), where he contemplated the beautiful and painful work of the water that carves and sculpts the mountains, leaving in the sediment of its bed the gold that sustains and divides us.

An album born from water and gold, from mutualism and symbiosis. A map of sonic forms in which Alejandro merges strings, synthesis and soundscapes, captured by him and others in different latitudes and heights, to craft music that follows the will of water.

What emerges, in the end, is not a tangible treasure, but a subtle revelation: what matters is not the gold the river carries; what matters is the river itself..
